Modern Style Moroccan Rugs Contemporary SpacesCherished for their vividly colorful modern design schemes and powerful sense of the abstract and the asymmetrical, all handmade vintage Moroccan rugs from the Berber Tribes of Morocco are dated to about the 20th century when weavers began adapting rug aesthetics from western and central Turkish rugs. Moroccan rugs offer a unique blend of designs; from geometric shapes and ambiguous tribal motifs to vibrant colors or minimalist styles transcending all other patterns seen in new, contemporary, and vintage Moroccan rugs. Versatile, arresting and sumptuous, get cozy Hygge vibes with our Moroccan Rug Collection!

Interior Designer: Brady Tolbert / Emily Henderson HGTV | Vintage Moroccan Rug: Esmaili Rugs

From Brady: On the floor I put this vintage Moroccan rug from Esmaili Rugs, it is lower pile than most of the Moroccan rugs you are seeing on the market now and I love that it allows for high traffic without getting all piled down and dirty. They have a massive selection of them and I also just learned that each rug pattern is actually a written message and you can get them read to you by a rug translator. Maybe in my next life I can just hang out with rugs all day as they speak their messages to me? Read more on the blog here.

Berber Red Moroccan Rugs and CarpetsPhotographer: Fran Parente | Interior Designer: Ashe Leandro | Vintage Berber Moroccan Rugs: Esmaili Rugs

Ashe Leandro used two of our red vintage Berber Moroccan rugs in their Venice Beach House Project. Although not rich with symbolic imagery, the colors themselves contain their own form of symbolism. As Esmaili enumerates, “In Berber culture, the color red symbolizes strength and protection, blue symbolizes wisdom, yellow represents eternity and green stands for peace.”

Soho House purchased an assortment of our vintage and new Moroccan rugs to furnish their spaces from West Hollywood, Los Angeles, and Malibu to Austin, Chicago, Nashville, New York, and Miami. See more Soho design inspiration here.

Vintage Berber Moroccan Rug Cabin Interior DesignPhotographer: Roger Davies | Interior Designer: Jazmyne Crunk, Hammer and Spear | Vintage Berber Moroccan Rug: Esmaili Rugs

From Hammer and Spear: We all need a moment of pause sometimes. This sitting room, a wonderful little space that straddles the distance between the master bedroom and master closet, provides just that. Hammer and Spear worked closely onsite with artist #TracyLatinis to get the metal effect walls and ceiling just right- this room glows like a rusted copper box when the fire is ablaze in the evening. To the left of the fireplace, is another incredible sconce by Erin Sullivan and a tightly curated library. The space in between remains straightforward and stoic, punctuated by a fire surround of bar stock and bent plate, expertly detailed by Andersson Wise. The faceted dimension ensures that light gets bounced around this dark hug of a room. Camp Teton | Jackson Hole, WY 2019.
