Description
80273 Distressed Vintage Calavera Sugar Skull Rug, 07'08 x 11'02.
Drawing inspiration from Alexander McQueen, Dia de los Muertos, and Disney's Coco movie, this hand-knotted wool distressed vintage Calavera skull area rug has been crafted from a vintage Persian Tabriz that has been overdyed in blue hues. It is adorned with decorative elements of florals, marigolds, hearts, rosary, and geometric accents honoring a deceased loved one on All Saint's Day. The piece was made through a process of distressing and over-dyeing, with the artist then hand-carving away the design from the pile of the rug. The original designs of the Persian rug peek through the blue colored dye with floriate vines and palmettes visible. With its Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead symbolism of duality, the elegant design of the sugar skull is representative of remembrance, death, return or a symbol of spirituality.
This vintage Persian sugar skull rug is a wonderful way to celebrate the memories of loved ones through art. Applicable for a variety of interior styles: Contemporary, Modern, Urban, Mexican, International, Gothic, Victorian, Eclectic, Industrial, Medieval, Steampunk, Machine Age, or converted factor apartments. Catering to traditional style with a twist of modern eccentric design, this blue overdyed skull rug is also well-suited for anyone with in the cognitive and Craniotomy business; including brain surgeons, neurosurgeons, neurologists, psychiatrists, psychologists, neuro-physiologists, neuro-chemists, neuro-biologists, neuro-psychologists, neuro-anatomists, neuro-geneticists, behavioral neuro-scientists and list continues.
