With its simplicity, plush pile and tribal style, this hand knotted wool vintage Beni M'Guild Moroccan rug is a captivating vision of woven beauty. The abrashed red field features an all-over diamond lattice pattern composed of smaller concentric lozenges. Imbued with red hues, the rich waves of abrash of painterly-like brush strokes and softly gradated striations run selvage to selvage blending seamlessly from one to the next. The blending of colors harmonize one another, creating the perfect design and emanating function and versatility while staying true to the authentic spirit of Berber Tribe culture. It is enclosed with a geometric border representing the male's presence. In Moroccan rugs, male motifs often appear on the outer portions of the composition, framing and enclosing the female motifs.
