Description
20009 Vintage Moroccan Azilal Rug 04'07 x 07'00.
This hand-knotted wool vintage Berber Moroccan rug features an all-over geometric pattern composed of the Star of Solomon dotted with three lozenges. Though deceptively simple, this Classic design is steeped in Moroccan tradition. In Ancient Berber rug-making, lozenges and diamond shapes represent a woman's openness to conceive and the power of womanhood. Solomon's Star symbolizes fertility and birth. The eight-point star also universally symbolizes harmony, balance and cosmic order. This depth of meaning presented in a bold, energetic form is what make Moroccan rugs such as this one such wonderful additions to contemporary interiors.
