Description
20194 Vintage Talsint Moroccan Rug, 05'07 x 14'02.
Boho Jungalow meets nomadic charm in this hand-knotted wool vintage Talsint Moroccan rug. The abrashed red field features three stepped lozenge medallions. The center lozenge is adorned with concentric diamonds, while the other two are decorated with ambiguous tribal motifs and rosettes. Additional Elibelinde motifs, symbolizing motherhood and fertility, are sprinkled throughout the red backdrop. It is enclosed with an inner frame composed of Hamsa (camel track) motifs. An outer border, richly patterned with mystical botanicals, creates a lush enclosure for this vintage Moroccan rug.
The patterns, although whimsical and seemingly random, hold deep significance for the rug weaver. Berber women incorporate design elements from their personal experiences into the rug's intricate designs. These symbols often reference events and aspects of daily life, including beliefs, birth, fertility, nature, femininity, life, and spirituality. The nomadic charm and talismanic stories woven into Moroccan rugs add to their allure, creating pieces that resonate with cultural richness and personal narratives.
