200002 Slipper chair with claw feet from antique Persian Khorassan rug. This hand knotted wool late 19th century antique Persian Khorassan rug was converted into slipper chair. It is a handcrafted and one-of-a-kind slipper chair with wooden claw feet. Slipper chairs were popular in the early 18th century and used as seating in a woman's bedroom and then Billy Baldwin re-invented slipper chairs for living rooms in the 1950s. Whether used in a bedroom, living room, library, child's room, and placed in a small corner with a tiny side table-- or even used for reading, this slipper chair is well-suited for a variety of styles. The antique Persian Khorassan rug features an all-over pattern composed of blooming palmettes, leafy tendrils, arabesque vines, and stylized flowers. Rendered in variegated shades of ink blue, navy blue, cerulean, sky blue, robin's egg blue, maroon, wine, rose, mauve, coffee, camel, tan, ecru, light gray, and orange with other accent colors.
