This hand-knotted wool antique Persian Malayer runner features a dynamic all-over Herati pattern spread across an abrashed ink blue field. The classic Herati pattern, also known as the Mahi or Fish pattern, is among the most widespread and well known of all Persian designs, consisting of a flower centered in a diamond accompanied by curving lanceolate leaves that resemble fish. A classic Shekeri main border, composed of scrolling boteh vines, frames the composition, along with a rosette meander guard borders and plain listels.
