The Classic Herati design, also known as the Mahi or fish pattern, is among the most widespread and well known of all Persian designs, consisting of a flower centered in a diamond accompanied by curving lanceolate leaves that resemble fish. Completing the composition is a botanical border enclosed with double guard borders.
