This hand-knotted wool antique Persian Heriz rug features three medallions composed of a serrated central lozenge flanked by a scarab shaped medallion surrounded by an all-over geometric pattern on an abrashed red backdrop. The abrashed field is covered with brightly hued stylized leaves, lotus, rosettes, tree of life motifs, and ambiguous tribal symbols. It is enclosed with an angular botanical border flanked with an inner and outer rectilinear meander guard borders.
