Description
74930 Vintage Persian Ardabil Rug, 07'04 x 10'01.
Cozy nomad meets Pacific Northwest style in this hand knotted wool vintage Persian Ardabil rug. The fascinating Caucasian designs and nature-inspired color palette woven into this piece work together resulting in a look of worldly sophistication with a laid-back feel. The rust colored field features three rectangular medallions filled with geometric shapes, stylized florals and foliage. A variety of tribal symbols, birds, animal motifs, eight-point stars, hooked amulets, tree of life motifs and family signs further ornament the composition. The interplay between the piece’s ambiguous motifs add a great deal of visual interest while also creating a strong sense of story. This vintage Ardebil rug is framed with a botanical border creating definition and a sense of order. A series of guard bands patterned with crenelated fence and carnation meander guard borders create cohesiveness while enhancing the overall beauty. Reflecting elements of Northwest style and nomadic charm, this vintage Persian area rug is layered with texture, pattern and earth-tone colors.
