Description
75879 Vintage Persian Hamadan Rug, 06'04 x 09'10.
Nomadic charm meets decidedly dramatic in this vintage Persian Hamadan rug. The intrinsic tribal design and bold earthy hues woven into this piece work together creating a warm and inviting yet culturally curated ambiance. Taking center stage are three hooked lozenge amulets each patterned with a large scarab-beetle. The abrashed red field is richly patterned with tree of life motifs, stylized birds and ambiguous tribal symbols. Each spandrel is decorated with stylized birds and stars meanwhile the corners extend the length forming ziggurat mounds. It is framed with a floral border and enclosed with carnation meander guard borders. An impressive range of bold earth-tone colors dominate the composition, which together with the rich symbolism and stylish levels of complexity result in a profound visual effect.
