76144 Colonial Revival Style Vintage Persian Mashhad Rug with Warm, Neutral Colors 06'09 X 09'02 From Esmaili Rugs Collection. This hand-knotted wool vintage Persian Mashhad rug features an all-over Shah Abbasi pattern spread across an abrashed field. The ancient floral Shah Abbasi motif first appeared in carpets during the turn of the 16th century and is named after Shah Abbas I the Great, who reigned during that time. A variety of palmettes in different styles such as slightly closed, budding, and fully blooming playfully dance across the field, along with curvilinear vinery, sickle-shaped leaves, rosettes and small leaflets. A complementary palmette main border, accompanied by small-scale Herati secondary borders and simple running water listels, elegantly frames the composition. Pops of blue along with dark coffee accents enliven the overall monochromatic color palette of warm neutrals. With its lovely scrolling floral patterns and soft colors, this highly versatile vintage Persian Mashhad rug would add a sophisticated touch to nearly any interior. Rendered in variegated shades of beige, ecru, camel, tan, khaki, sand, champagne, peach, almond, cream, burnt umber, sienna, coffee, black, cerulean, sky blue, robin’s egg blue, ink blue, royal blue and cobalt. Perfect for a bedroom, living room, family room, den, sitting room, studio, study, office, foyer, entryway, game room, library, office, studio or study.
