Nomadic charm meets boho chic in this hand knotted wool antique Caucasian Kurdish rug. The intrinsic tribal design earthy colorway woven into this piece work together creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Four diamond medallions filled with a cross (cruciform motif) run along the center while an allover pattern composed of rosettes are dispersed across the richly striated field. A crenelated fence border reach from sides towards the centre of the field. From the centre of the rug, a series of borders create a frame. The cream-colored border is composted of large-scale amulet motifs for good luck and protection, flanked by two rosette and ribbon guard bands. Four sets of thin barber pole guard bands alternate between the series of borders. Based on traditional designs from the Caucasus region, this antique Kurdish rug is full of history and cultural appeal.
