Bold and rustic, this hand-knotted wool antique Caucasian Kazak rug features a robust composition. Two jagged edge lozenge medallions connect at one end and fill the Kazak rug field in brilliant bright red and navy-blue hues. A pair of half-medallions appear in each larger one, adding to the dynamism in the antique Caucasian rug design. Ram's heads and florets ornament the border, adding depth and interest meanwhile two guard borders flank the primary geometric tribal border with rolling scroll patterns. Rendered in variegated shades of ruby red, brick red, terra cotta, burnt orange, ink blue, navy blue, royal blue, pumpkin, salmon, pink, olive, cerulean, brown, coffee, charcoal, taupe and beige. Edges are not perfectly straight.
