The architectural elements of naturalistic forms combined with Arts and Crafts style, this vintage-style Turkish Oushak rug draws inspiration from William Morris. It features an all-over large-scale geometric design composed of a repeating ogival pattern spread across the field in a tantalizing and vibrant composition. It is framed with a botanical border composed of calyxes, open blossoms, delicate tendrils and vinery flanked with an inner and outer guard band. The overall composition is distinctly reminiscent of the Arts & Crafts movement carpet designs of late nineteenth and early twentieth century England.
