This captivating vintage Turkish Oushak prayer rug features the motif of a stepped edge mihrab, or prayer niche, topped with an arrow head finial. Multi-color blossoms fill the carpet field meanwhile multiple guard borders surround. Eight-pointed crosses in the outermost border frame the composition. Within the concentric borders, a row of griffon-like forms surrounds the niche, and an innermost layer of hooked motifs encircles the carpet field.
