52393 Vintage Turkish Oushak Rug, 03'08 x 11'06. 

This hand-knotted wool vintage Turkish Oushak runner features four large octagonal medallions spread across an abrashed field. Each medallion contains concentric rectangles with a hooked cross design along with small diamonds, eight-pointed stars and saw-tooth outlining. In Anatolian culture, diamonds are seen to ward off evil and eight-pointed stars traditionally represent spirituality. A comb border lines the edges of the field, a motif that is also used to protect against evil. The main border repeats the eight-pointed stars from the medallion along with large quatrefoil florets in alternating colors, while a poly-chromatic reciprocal triangle outer border frames the composition. With its bold geometric design and warm saturated colors, this handsome vintage Turkish Oushak runner would be a truly wonderful addition to any interior.
