This hand-knotted wool vintage Turkish Oushak rug features a large-scale boteh filled central medallion anchored with blooming palmettes at either end and dotted with scorpion motifs in each corner of the open, abrashed rustic brick red field. A saw-tooth band creates double mihrab niches flanked with an inner link of ram's horn motifs in alternating colors. The corner spandrels are filled with a Scorpion and multiple Ram's Horn motifs. It is enclosed with a compound border flanked with an inner and outer guard band.
